A woman battling a mouse infestation in Islington, North London, says she felt like a spectator at a mouse marathon as the rodents constantly ran around her home.

She was desperate to get rid of the mice, which dashed about the floors throughout her home day and night.

The mouse control athletics appeared to get worse after neighbours a few doors down from her terraced house started to renovate their basement.

Gill (she prefers not give her second name) said: “The mice started running everywhere. They were in the kitchen, near the downstairs loo, and on every floor of my home. They were certainly too fast to catch!

“I wondered if the work being done on the basement nearby had disturbed some mice and they all came to live with me. They must have thought my home made a good mouse running training camp.”

Humane mouse control

Gill is “mildly mouse phobic”. She is not scared of mice, but just does not want them around. The question was, how do you get rid of mice marathon runners?

She first tried mouse control offered by traditional pest control companies, but their conventional methods of putting down mice bait and mouse traps did not work.
