Harriet Spicer was, she says, at her wits’ end.
She had two tenants, one near “hysterical”, and no idea how to get rid of the mice that had invaded her two rental flats.
Then, a property surveyor advised her that mouse proofing was the way forward to get rid of mice. He also, helpfully, pointed out that he had seen SUPERPROOF vans in the area.
Harriet called us, and within days the mice were gone. Job done. Crisis over. And a tenant was much calmer than just hours before.
Harriet, an executive coach and former publisher, said: “SUPERPROOF was very impressive. They were very prompt and very professional.
“Customer service was excellent. They had the right equipment and materials, and nothing seemed to phase the technician. It was very efficient. Slick, I would say.”
The tenants in the flats in a mews property in Chelsea, West London, had only alerted Harriet of the mouse infestation when it had got pretty much out of control.
She said: “There was an empty house next door, with a lot of food still in it, so we think the mouse population built up there and then moved into my flats.
“Suddenly, I started getting messages from my tenants about what the mice were up to. It had got pretty bad by then. There were certainly a lot of them.”
Baiting with poison - “absolutely no effect”
Harriet’s first thought was to call in a pest control company. She said: “They put down a lot of poison but it had no effect whatsoever.
“The pest controllers said it was because the mice were getting food elsewhere, so didn’t need to eat the bait. That’s as maybe, but it was costing me a lot of money for nothing.”
The pest control company then suggested calling the council, which wanted to charge just a little less for doing more of the same, another round of baiting.
Only when she was told about SUPERPROOF did she quickly find there was light at the end of the tunnel.
She said: “It was clear that the technician was very well trained. My tenants have a lot of belongings, but he was able to get in all the cupboards and corners needed to do his proofing work.
“One tenant was particularly anxious about how her very large collection of clothes was handled. But the technician was very careful, and respectful.”
SUPERPROOF recommended that the garage door should also be mouse proofed, so a technician returned to carry out the task.
“The problem was, the door lowered on to cobbles, so the plan to cement a proofing strip into the ground couldn’t work,” said Harriet.
“So, instead of giving up, the technician literally scratched his head for a while, and came up with an alternative approach which was to install a flexible plastic strip. It was a brilliant example of finding another solution.”
Cannot recommend highly enough
Harriet only wishes she had known about SUPERPROOF before. She said: “I spent more on baiting than SUPERPROOF’s service, to absolutely no effect. I cannot recommend SUPERPROOF highly enough.
“Their service works and their customer service is second to none. It’s also good to know I’m not releasing poisons into the environment.
“Having the guarantee that the mice will be gone for 6 months is very helpful. And the quality of SUPERPROOF’s service gives me confidence that they will honour it.”
Having a non-hysterical tenant is pretty helpful as well.
